Terms and Conditions - Loyalty Programme and Participation 


  1. The extra rewards loyalty programme (“the Programme”) is operated by Robert Bosch (Pty) Ltd (“Bosch”) for the benefit of selected business partners and on behalf of other participating non-competing automotive suppliers and manufacturers (“Cooperation Partners”).

  2. The Programme will be open for participation by Automotive spare parts retailers and Automotive workshops located in South Africa, above the age of 18 or with a valid registration with the Companies and Intellectual Property Commission and who have registered on the extra rewards website, za.extra-reward.net (“the Website”) (hereinafter referred to as “Participants”). Employees of Bosch AA division or any employee within the Bosch Group of companies are excluded from participation.

  3. By registering as a Participant on the Website you will also be registered for the Programme and will be issued with a membership number once the Participant has agreed to be bound to the following terms and conditions. A Participant may not participate in the Programme unless they accept the terms and conditions which shall automatically apply.

  4. Participants can earn a predetermined number of points (“Loyalty Points”) when purchasing certain products as nominated by the extra cooperation-partners on the Programme’s website (“Eligible Products”). In addition, purchases of Eligible Products must be made from authorised participating Bosch wholesalers (“Registered Wholesalers”). The Registered Wholesalers will be listed on the Website.

  5. The Loyalty Points earned from purchasing these Eligible Products will be added to the Participant’s total Loyalty Points balance for purposes of qualifying for the various rewards redemption as appearing on the Website (“Rewards”). Rewards will be issued in form of digital vouchers. Bosch is not responsible for the Cooperation-Partners Loyalty Points’ allocation per Eligible Product or the reporting of Loyalty Points by the Registered Wholesalers. Bosch is not responsible for the resolution of any dispute relating to cooperation-partner’s Loyalty Points allocation to the Participants. Cooperation-partners will be responsible for the management of Loyalty Points related to their Eligible Product sales, the Programme is only used to facilitate distribution of Rewards to the Participants.

  6. The number of partners of the Programme is constantly growing. Bosch may introduce and remove cooperation partners from time to time at its sole and absolute discretion. Participants will be advised by email whenever a Cooperation Partner joins or leaves the Programme. A reference to Bosch will be deemed to include reference also to the Cooperation Partners as Bosch will ensure the update of the Cooperation Partners on the Website from time to time.

  7. Bosch may engage the services of one or more service providers who will fulfil the issuing of the Rewards to the Participants.

  8. Registration to the Programme is free of charge, however Loyalty Points and Rewards accrued to the Participant as part of the Programme are only valid on purchases of Eligible Products, as mentioned on the Website.

  9. To participate, the authorised person must register the Participant for the Programme on the Website

  10. Within the context of the Programme, at all times, only the authorised person (and, if applicable, all shareholders jointly) can act on behalf of the Participant

  11. Any changes to the details of the Participant must be updated via the Website by the Participant without delay. Bosch is not responsible for non-delivery of rewards as a result of inaccurate Participant details on the website. Bosch is indemnified from liability to any Participant whose details appear or are incorrect. By registering a Participant account, the Participant accepts these Terms and Conditions

  12. Bosch reserves the right to amend, alter or update these terms and conditions at any time by publishing the amended, altered or updated terms and conditions (“Updated Terms”) on the Website and such Updated Terms shall apply immediately from the date of publication.

  13. Only Participants who purchase Eligible Products from Registered Wholesalers may participate in the Programme. Rewards will only be issued to the Participant as indicated on the Participant’s completed participation form on registration, and no individual participation or allocation of Rewards will be allowed.

  14. Eligible Product orders not invoiced (e.g. back orders or forward orders) are excluded from the Programme and no Loyalty Points or Rewards will be accrued or issued.

  15. In the event that Bosch Automotive products are defective, the products may be exchanged in accordance with Bosch’s warranty policy (located at Website).

  16. Where Loyalty Points have been exchanged for Rewards, the Participant agrees to the respective third party’s terms and conditions relating to the third party’s Reward offering and any issues, returns and/or warranties that be applicable to such Reward must be directed to the respective third party. No additional points will be awarded in respect of Rewards that have been exchanged for alternative products.

  17. If Bosch in its sole and absolute discretion grants a credit or a refund in respect of any Eligible Products, any Loyalty Points that were awarded or Rewards issued for the purchase of those Eligible Products will be forfeited.

  18. The availability of Eligible Products is limited and Bosch will take reasonable commercial steps to order stock. Bosch will not be liable to Participants in the event of insufficient stock or no stock of any of the Eligible Products.

  19. Loyalty Points and Rewards will only be awarded and issued on valid purchases of Eligible Products during the Programme period, the period of such Programme is determined at Bosch’s sole and absolute discretion. Purchases outside the Programme period will not qualify for Loyalty Points or Rewards. Any Loyalty Points accrued as at the end of the Programme period must be used within 3 months of termination of the Programme, otherwise, the Participant forfeits the Loyalty Points.

  20. The onus rests on the Participants to ensure that the Registered Wholesaler reports all purchase data relating to the Eligible Products to enable Bosch to enter the data into the applicable platform in order that the Loyalty Points are correctly allocated and in order to issue the applicable Rewards.

  21. All Eligible Product transactions must be recorded into the Programme within six months after the date of invoice, failing which any potential Loyalty Points or Rewards will be forfeited.

  22. Loyalty Points are applicable to this specific Programme and expire after 18 months. This includes any Loyalty Points, if any, carried forward from prior programmes. The carrying forward of the Loyalty Points between programmes is at the sole and obsolete discretion of Bosch.

  23. Rewards redemptions are to be made through the Website only and not by other forms of communication or means. Rewards issued expire after 36 months from the date of issue and may be used exclusively for the purchase of the various approved products as appearing on the Website at time of redemption. Any dispute pertaining to the Rewards must be raised with the applicable Rewards service provider and not Bosch. Bosch bears no liability once the Rewards have been issued, for the use of the Rewards in any manner and the Participant waives any claim against Bosch.

  24. The Loyalty Points and Rewards cannot be endorsed or transferred and cannot be exchanged for cash or any other benefit. No requests for changes or exchanges of Rewards will be considered.

  25. Loyalty Points can be redeemed for Rewards any time the Website   In the event of a Reward being or becoming unavailable and/or discontinued, Bosch reserves the right to substitute the Reward with another reward of equal and / or similar value which the Participant will be obliged to accept. In the event that the Participant does not accept the alterative reward, the Participant agrees to forfeit its entitlement to such Reward or alternative reward.

  26. On completion of the Rewards redemption process, the Participant will receive a system generated confirmation code via the email address used to register for the Programme and will serve as the issued date and an acknowledgement of acceptance of the Reward.

  27. Loyalty Points can be used or allocated to redeem multiple Rewards. For illustrative purposes only, if a Participant has 5,750 points, it can redeem 2,750 points for one reward and use the balance of 3,000 points to redeem another reward.

  28. A Reward may not be cancelled or changed once it has been confirmed on the Website.

  29. Participants agree that Bosch has the right to use the names, photographs, and Rewards (“Images”) claimed by the Participants for media coverage, advertisement, social media platforms, the Website or publicity without paying any consideration to the Participants or the individuals involved. The Participants undertake to ensure that they obtain the prior written consent of their companies, officers, personnel and all other persons in the Images in order for Bosch to use their Images for the aforesaid purposes. Participation will imply that the necessary consent has been obtained and no further consent will be required. Participants provide Bosch a warranty in respect of the consent required.

  30. Participants grant permission to Bosch to use or process their Images, data and personal information as defined the Protection of Personal Information Act No. 4 of 2013 (“POPIA”) provided by them for future campaigns, promotions, emails, correspondence and marketing activities related to the Programme.

  31. Bosch, its directors, officers, employees, associates, agents, contractors and consultants (“Indemnified Parties”) shall not be liable for any claim, liability, cost, expense or penalty (“Claims”) suffered or incurred by any Participant as a result of participation in the Programme or the use of any reward, irrespective of the nature of such claims and howsoever arising or occurring. By participating in the Programme, the Participant indemnifies the Indemnified Parties and holds them harmless from any Claims or loss suffered or incurred as a result of the Participant’s participation in the Programme or the use of any reward.

  32. Bosch reserve the right, but shall not be obliged to verify the Participant’s purchase and should the verification fail or should there be suspicious activity on the Participant’s account (or any individual connected to a Participant) with the Registered Wholesalers, Bosch reserves the right to suspend the Loyalty Points and/or the Rewards while it investigates the suspicious activity or why verification failed and, should Bosch conclude that there has been any misuse, abuse, dishonest, unfair,  fraudulent or manipulation of any sort of the Programme, at Bosch’s sole discretion, it may terminate the Participant’s registration with Bosch, the Loyalty Points and the Rewards without notice, however, the Participant may be asked to provide an explanation prior to termination. Bosch may, in its discretion, take legal action against the Participant and individuals involved.

  33. Bosch reserves the right in its sole and absolute discretion to withdraw or terminate the Programme or any aspect of it at any time, without assigning any reason.

  34. The decision of Bosch with respect of all matters connected with this Programme will be final and binding and is not contestable.

  35. Bosch reserves the right to correct obvious or errors and/or omissions relating or connected to the Programme or any connected aspect.

  36. Rewards issued are non-refundable. Should a Participant misplace, damage or lose the Rewards, the Participant will forfeit the respective Rewards.

  37. Once the rewards are issued to the Participant, the applicable Loyalty Points will be deducted, even if the voucher expires without usage.

Setting up the Participant's Account


  1. The business owner must set up the Participant’s online account on the Website.

  2. Once the Participant‘s details have been entered, a confirmation link will be sent to the Participant‘s email address. Only after the link has been activated and a password has been set is the Participant granted access to the portal and can start to collect Loyalty Points. It is not possible for Loyalty Points to be recorded retrospectively for accounts which have not been activated.

  3. All Loyalty Points awarded accrue to the Participant and are personal to the Participant. The Participant is not entitled to transfer or assign their account to anyone for any reason.

  4. Details of the Participant will only be used for the purpose of administering the Programme, unless consented otherwise and will be deleted upon departure from the Programme.

Password Security


  1. The Participant's account is password protected. The Participant must ensure that no other person obtains knowledge of its password. If the Participant suspects that another person has obtained knowledge of its password or if any other abusive use is suspected, the Participant is obliged without delay to change its password and to inform, the Programme service centre, using the online contact details on the Website.

Termination and Disqualification


  1. Participation in the Programme may be terminated by either Bosch or the Participant at any time. In the event of termination by the Participant, the Participant must give the Programme service centre notice of termination in writing. The right to redeem the Loyalty Points already collected on the date of termination shall remain unaffected hereby, unless the termination was due to suspicious activities of the Participant, as detailed in clause 30. At all times throughout a Participant‘s participation in the Programme, it must deal with Bosch in the utmost good faith in every respect. Falsifying information requested by Bosch will result in a Participant‘s disqualification from the Programme and all other promotions including future promotions by Bosch and the Bosch group. In the event of a Participant‘s disqualification or termination, Loyalty Points or Rewards collected will be forfeited.

Limitation of Liability


  1. Nothing in these Terms and Conditions shall limit or exclude Bosch's liability for death or personal injury caused by its negligence, or the negligence of its employees, agents or subcontractors (as applicable); or fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation by Bosch; or in respect of defective products, including Eligible Products falling under the Consumer Protection Act or any matter in respect of which it would be unlawful for Bosch to exclude or restrict liability.

  2. Subject to the above, Bosch shall not be liable to the Participant for any: loss of profit (whether direct, indirect or consequential) whether in contract, delict/tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, arising under or in connection with the Terms and Conditions.

  3. Subject to the above, Bosch's total liability to the Participant in respect of all other losses (including indemnified losses) arising under or in connection with the Terms and Conditions, whether in contract, delict/tort (including negligence), breach of statutory duty, or otherwise, shall not exceed the value of the Reward or the Loyalty Points accumulated by Participants.

  4. By participating in the Programme, the Participant hereby agrees that the data communication via the Website is not defect free and/or available at all times. Bosch is not therefore liable either for the constant and uninterrupted availability of the Website or for technical or electronic errors which are beyond the control of Bosch and of persons employed by it in performance of its obligations, including, in particular, the delayed processing or acceptance of offers due to data communication problems.

Advice on Data Protection


  1. The following data will be Processed, as defined in POPIA in order to administer the Programme, i.e. names, email addresses, phone numbers, images, physical addresses, purchases, VAT number, registration number, financial information. We will only use this Person Information for the purpose of fulfilling the obligations set out in these Terms and Conditions, unless consented otherwise. Further information in this respect can be obtained on the Website. All Participants consent to the use and storage of Personal Information whether inside or outside South Africa (subject to compliance with section 72 of POPIA) and that the Personal Information may be used to inform Participants of marketing campaigns to increase Loyalty Points or other benefits. Personal Information of Participants will be disclosed to third party suppliers contracted to manage the Programme and to market campaigns to Participants by Bosch. Participants consent to such disclosure within the context of these Terms and Conditions and consent hereby to be contacted by the third party suppliers appointed by Bosch.

  2. The data protection laws and regulations in force and effect at any one time shall apply. No renewed approval by the Participant of these Terms and Conditions or of the data protection requirements shall be required unless prescribed by law.

Applicable Law and Jurisdiction


  1. These Terms and Conditions, and any dispute or claim arising out of or in connection with it or its subject matter or formation (including non-contractual disputes or claims), shall be governed by, and construed in accordance with the law of South Africa and the courts of South Africa shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
